Vimeo OTT integrates with Google Analytics on the web and apps. This guide will walk you through connecting your Google Analytics account with your apps and what events you can track.

Important information
If you want to view event data in Google Analytics, you must follow these steps to link the Firebase account setup by the Vimeo OTT team with your Google Analytics account. Every Apple, Amazon, and Android OTT app ships with Firebase so these instructions walk you through linking an existing Firebase project to your existing Google Analytics 4 account.
You should not set this up from the Google Analytics 4 console.

Xbox and Tizen apps are not currently supported.
If you don’t have a Google Analytics 4 project setup. In that case, you should follow the steps online to do this, entering the Google Analytics 4 Measurement ID in the tracking section of OTT before you attempt to link your apps. Check that an existing Google Analytics 4 property is linked at https://yoursitename.vhx.tv/admin/manage/settings/tracking.
Connecting Apple, Amazon, and Android
- Ask your Account Manager to grant you access to Firebase. Provide the email that you use as an Admin on your Google Analytics account (https://analytics.google.com/analytics/web/)
- Once you have been added to Firebase, you will receive an email inviting you to collaborate, the title is:
[Firebase] Vimeo OTT added you as a collaborator on the project ‘{Firebase Projectname}'
- Once you accept this invite, you will be able to link your Google Analytics account to Firebase.
- Open Firebase (https://firebase.google.com/) and log in with the email you provided to your Account Manager (the admin email for their Google Analytics account).
- Click on Go to console
- Select the app project you were added to
- Select the ⚙️ cog to view project settings, and choose the Integrations Tab
- Click Enable, then (optionally) accept sharing settings and agree to the terms.
- Click Enable Google Analytics
- Select the Google Analytics account 708 want to link, and click Continue.
This should be the same Google Analytics account that their web events are currently sent
- You can choose to either create a new property for mobile analytics data or a new one.
- Finally click Enable Google Analytics and the properties will be linked to GA4.
Roku Analytics setup
Follow these instructions to link your Google Analytics Account to your Roku app:
Google Analytics API Secret & Google Analytics Measurement ID
1. Create a new secret, by navigating in your Google Analytics UI to:
Admin > Data collection > Data streams > Add stream > Web
2. Enter your site URL, name the stream Roku, and disable every default tracking option.
3. On the page that loads, copy your Measurement ID
4. Lower down this same page, click on Measurement Protocol API Secrets
5. Create a Roku API Secret
6. This is the Google Analytics API Secret that you will need to provide to your Account Manager
7. Your Account Manager will work with our Branded Apps team to update both values for your
Roku application and will confirm when access has been configured.
