Popular adblockers that your viewers can download into their browsers may impact the ability for the Vimeo player to fully track analytics. Some adblockers uniformly and indiscriminately block all messages sent from a video player, which means that Vimeo can only log impressions from the player (aka the number of times the player is loaded) when viewers watch with adblockers on. This might mean that your view counts and watch time are lower than expected.
To mitigate this, you can encourage your viewers to allow all subcomains of vimeo.com and vimeocdn.com through their adblockers' allowlists. If you are viewing on company-managed software, you can contact support to check if your company-managed adblockers impact analytics.
As of August 7, 2024 you may notice changes in your analytics. This is because we updated the way that we log analytics from the Player, which may have been impacted by different adblockers. Some adblockers will not block analytics logs that did before, and vice versa.
