We’ve redesigned our analytics logging system to provide more insightful analytics data. This update features a range of enhancements designed to help you track and analyze your videos more effectively. This article will guide you through the key changes to get the most out of your analytics.
For Enterprise accounts with Workspaces: Analytics are available for both the Organization and its Workspaces. Organization Admins can view combined analytics from all Workspaces.
Watch time
Watch time metrics, such as total time watched and average time watched, will now account for how viewers repeat and skip parts of your video when watching, as of August 7, 2024.
Improvements to analytics enable us to better determine how viewers watch your videos, including when they skip or replay parts of the video. You may notice that your watch time metrics are more accurate. For example, your average time watched metric may be longer than the video's duration if viewers have repeatedly watched certain parts of the video.
Impressions and views now separate Vimeo vs. non-Vimeo data
We’ve made improvements so that impressions and view counts will now only display data from the Vimeo player, effective August 7, 2024.
Using the Vimeo player enables you to leverage advanced analytics that are logged through the player. When the Vimeo player is not used (e.g., when direct file links are used to play hosted videos in third-party players), advanced analytics tracking is not available through Vimeo. Previously, your total views and impressions counts included data from both Vimeo and third-party players. Your total view counts in the Dashboard and across Vimeo will now show data from the Vimeo player only. Though views and impressions sums will no longer include data from third-party players, a new metric named Third-party impressions is available in Analytics reports to view and download, as well as in the Analytics API.
