This article discusses enhancements in video performance tracking and reporting on the Vimeo mobile app, providing more accurate insights into audience behavior across devices.
In this article:
Requirements
- iOS app version: 11.8.0 and higher.
- Android app version: 11.5.0 and higher.
What changed?
Starting with this update, videos viewed on the Vimeo mobile app (iOS and Android) are now included in your analytics, just like videos viewed on desktop or mobile web.
Previously, mobile app activity was partially tracked using approximations, primarily when a video was finished. With this enhancement, all playback activity from the Vimeo mobile app is now completely tracked.
What is new in my analytics?
With this update, you’ll now see a more complete picture of your video’s performance, including:
All core metrics are as follows:
- Views
- Impressions
- Watch time (total, average, average%)
- Downloads
- Finishes
- Click-throughs and more
All analytics dimensions are as follows:
- Video
- Region
- Device
- Source
- Date
- Team member activity (for Team accounts)
Downloads now include:
- Watch later (available on mobile app only, not on browser)
- Save to Photos (iOS) / Save to Camera Roll (Android)
The Downloads metric now incorporates these actions to enhance the measurement of mobile engagement.
You may notice an increase in your overall metrics, particularly in the Device report. The improvements capture more audience interactions on mobile devices, resulting in more accurate reporting.
These updates ensure that your analytics reflect complete and accurate data, providing better visibility into how your audience engages with your content.
