How to downgrade my subscription

Not sure which plan type you have? Check “Membership” in the upper left corner of your account settings.

For Custom and Enterprise Plans, contact your Account Manager, Renewal Manager, or Customer Success Manager to downgrade your subscription.

How do I downgrade my subscription to another paid tier?

To downgrade your subscription, first disable auto-renew by canceling your account in billing settings. See How do I disable auto-renewal for my Vimeo subscription plan? for more information.

Once your account has reached the subscription end date listed in billing settings, you can purchase a new plan at the desired tier.

Below you’ll find a breakdown of how your access to certain features and storage would change with a downgrade from one paid subscription tier to a lower paid tier.

Standard

Starter
  • Video storage: 2TB reduced to 100GB
  • Team Collaboration: 10 seats reduced to 1 seat (unless additional seats were purchased).
  • Player customization is limited. Features such as branding your player, custom cards, call-to-actions, lead capturing, and third-party player support are only available with Standard and higher.
  • Selection of Vimeo video templates is reduced, and you will lose access to stock assets.
  • No monetization capabilities. Access to sell your videos on Vimeo on Demand is limited to Standard and higher.
  • No customizable portfolios.
  • Showcase features such as SEO and connected Roku apps require Standard and higher.

Advanced

Standard
  • Video storage: 7TB reduced to 2TB.
  • Team Collaboration: 10 seats reduced to 5 seats (unless additional seats were purchased).
  • No virtual events or webinars.
  • No marketing integrations. Connecting to apps such as Constant Contact, Hubspot, Mailchimp, Heap, and Campaign Monitor requires an Advanced plan.
  • Lose access to live chat support.

  • Video storage: Upload from up to 20GB per week reduced to up to 5GB per week (learn more).
  • Lose collaboration features, such as the ability to add team members to your account, review & approval tools, and the ability to see version history.
  • No monetization capabilities. Access to sell your videos on Vimeo On Demand is limited to Pro and higher.
  • No customizable portfolios, showcases, or chapters.
  • Selection of Vimeo video templates is reduced, and you will lose access to stock assets.
  • No ability to get a direct link to your video file for third-party players. 

Business

Pro
  • Video storage: 7TB total storage would reduce to a 1TB storage.
  • Team Collaboration: 10 seats reduced to 3 seats.
  • Marketing tools and integrations are not available on Pro; more on those tools here. 
  • Access to our Creator Marketplace, where you can find professional video creators to help make your next video, is not included in Pro.  
  • The ability to add your branding to videos made on Vimeo is limited to Business and above.

Premium

Business
  • Lose access to live chat support.
  • Lose access to all virtual event and livestreaming features 

 

How do I downgrade my account to a free tier?

You can downgrade your subscription to a free tier by canceling your account.

Can I downgrade my subscription early and receive a refund?

Downgrades can only occor on or after your account's next renewal date, which you can view on the membership plan page.
