This feature requires an Enterprise account.
With a Vimeo Enterprise account, you can experience a centralized space for managing and presenting your organization’s video content called Video Library. This library creates a secure, collaborative workspace for employees to share knowledge across departments and teams.
With Video Library, your team will be able to contribute, organize, and search for content with secure access for your whole team all in one space.

Adding your team members
Users can be invited to a team as either an Admin, Contributor, or Viewer. These roles have inherent account-level permissions that can be overridden at the folder level with more granular permissions. This can also be done automatically if your account has SSO enabled with SCIM, which is ideal for larger teams and organizations.
Furthermore, SSO-enabled accounts can more efficiently give access to folders using groups from their Identity Provider (IdP), rather than inviting individuals. For example, if the Marketing team has a folder, you can invite the entire Marketing group to contribute to that folder rather than each member of the marketing team. SCIM also allows for the automatic de-provisioning of users.
When your team members log in to Vimeo, they will be directed to the team account’s branded home page, which serves as the content hub for your organization. This page includes a featured video at the top, followed by all folders to which the user has access.
While logging in for the first time, Owners and Admins will see an empty state of the Video Library, with the ability to start creating folders, uploading videos, and inviting team members to folders from the homepage. Viewers or Contributors will see content they have access to, or informational messaging if nothing has been added yet.
Setting a featured video
Team owners and admins can set the featured video on the homepage by clicking the Featured content button found at the lower right corner of the featured video’s thumbnail.
⚠️Note: Make sure you are logged into your account, otherwise you will not see your team’s homepage.
A modal will open allowing you to search among your videos and live events. Select the video or event you want to pin to the top of the home page. When you’ve chosen your content, click Save.
As team owner or admin, you can preview your featured video/event by navigating to the home page of your enterprise account. If you have set a live event as your featured video, you can navigate to the event settings page by clicking the Manage event button.
⚠️Note: If the next event has not yet been scheduled, team admins can opt to show the latest archived clip on the home page instead of the upcoming scheduled one.
Anyone on your team who clicks on the featured video or live event on the homepage will be brought to the video / live event page. If the home page is featuring an in-progress live event, team members will see a play button across the header that they can click to navigate to the live broadcast. If the event is scheduled for a later time, they will see the event schedule and status.
The options shown on the private video / live event page vary depending on the team member’s permission on the video’s folder. Viewers will only be able to comment, whereas Contributors will be able to adjust the video’s settings in addition to commenting. The comment panel includes the ability to leave time-coded notes, video comments, and other review tools.
⚠️Note: The featured content shown on the library home page will be available for all team members to view, even if that content is located in a folder that not everyone can access.
Clicking the back arrow in the upper left corner will navigate you to the folder that the video lives in, whereas clicking the team logo will bring you back to the homepage.
Navigating content
Below the featured video, team members will see content from the folders to which they have access, presented as swim lanes on the homepage.
Select Library from the panel on the left in order to access all videos, including ones that are not currently sorted into a folder.
For each folder, you can either click into any subfolder or video thumbnail displayed here, using arrows on the right side to navigate the swim lane, or click View all to the right to see all the content within that parent folder.
When you enter a subfolder, you can switch between grid view and list view using the icon in the upper right corner. You can also sort the order in which the videos are displayed (title, date modified, or date added) in the upper left corner.
Click on the thumbnail of the video you want to watch to open the video page.
In addition to watching the video, the options shown on this page vary depending on the team member’s permission on the video’s folder. Viewers of that folder will only be able to comment, whereas Contributors, Folder Admins, and team Admins and Owners will be able to adjust the video’s settings in addition to commenting. The comment panel includes the ability to leave time-coded notes, video comments, and other review tools.
⚠️Note: If the video is public or password-protected, viewers will instead see our classic public-facing video page.
Clicking the back arrow in the upper left corner will navigate you to the folder that the video lives in, whereas clicking the team logo will bring you back to the homepage.
Search for content in your video library
If you’re looking for a specific video or folder, the homepage and folder pages include a search bar, which will list your recent searches after opening the search bar. Any content on the account that you have access to will auto-populate as you type.
Automatically generated closed captions can also serve as keywords for your search, as all videos you upload to your account will be transcribed, allowing you to quickly locate videos that discuss certain topics.
Search can be filtered by videos, folders, and Create templates, allowing you to quickly access our library of templates directly from your home page.
You can press the enter key to be brought to a results page for your internal content, allowing you to further filter your results by content type, parent folder, additional criteria (title, transcript, description, tags, and chapter), and sorting order.
To know how to move folders in the video library, refer to How to move folders in Video Library.
You can also perform bulk actions on search results in your Library.
Bulk actions on video Library
As an Enterprise owner, admin, contributor, and folder admin, you can now select and move multiple videos in your Video Library or search results from one folder to another, in one action. This functionality works in both Private to Me and Team Folders.
Selecting Videos:
You can either select all videos within a folder or search results at once or select multiple videos individually. You can also select multiple videos from search results within your Library.
To select all videos in a folder at once:
- Select the box icon in the top-left of your folder page below the title of the folder.
- All videos in the folder will be selected, indicated by a blue checkbox in the left corner of each video thumbnail.
To select multiple videos individually:
- Hover over each video thumbnail in your Library - an empty checkbox will appear in the top-left corner of each
- Select the checkbox to select the video.
- Keep selecting checkboxes of videos until all videos you'd like to select are selected.
You can select and action up to 50 videos at once. If more than 50 videos are in the folder or search results, select the “Load More” bar at the bottom of the page, and then select all videos shown.
Bulk Actions:
A bulk actions bar will show how many videos you have selected and offer multiple actions that you can take with the videos.
Bulk actions include:
- Add to collections: Add the videos to a showcase, portfolio, channel, or group.
- Move: Move the videos to another folder in the Library.
- Privacy: Change the privacy settings of the selected videos.
- Remove: Remove the video from the folder or delete the video from the account.
Adding folders and subfolders
In addition to adding folders and subfolders in the Library, you can also add folders without leaving your home page environment.
- In the left navigation bar, click the + icon next to "Team folders."
- Name your folder, then click Save.
- The folder will appear in the left navigation bar and on your video library homepage. Click on the folder name to open it and start uploading videos immediately.
4. When you create a new folder you will also see the option to Invite people and upload.
If you click into a folder from your library homepage, you can create a subfolder directly from the folder page without needing to navigate into the video manager.
- From your video library, click on any folder title to enter the folder page.
- Click New folder in the upper right corner of any folder page.
- Name your subfolder, then click Save.
- You'll be able to upload videos immediately or navigate back to the parent folder in the upper right corner.
Adding and managing content
From the home page, Owners, Admins, and Contributors can manage videos and switch teams via the expandable side navigation menu. This is where videos can be organized into shared folders however you like, such as by team, department, or topic. For each folder, you can create subfolders up to 10 levels deep to further organize your video content.
💡Tip: If you only use Vimeo as a member of an Enterprise team account, you may see a simplified experience that only includes the settings that are optimized for your enterprise company’s needs.
By clicking the ellipses menu (⋯) on the lower right corner of a video card, you can move and manage content without navigating away from the home page. Selecting (⋯) allows you to copy a link, download, move, or delete a video.
From within a folder, you can immediately upload a video into that folder without needing to navigate away from the home page view.
You can also access the same actions from either a video card view or list view. To switch to list view, click the bullet list icon in the top right corner. Similarly, click the tile icon to switch back to video card view.
Once in list view, the same actions (Copy link, Download, Move, Delete) can be accessed by clicking the ellipses menu (⋯) to the right of each video in the folder.
Account owners, admins, and contributors can also manage their own work in a private workspace, which no one else (including the owner) can access.
This private workspace allows individuals to make changes to their videos or recordings before moving them to a shared folder. You can also create subfolders within the private folder to better organize your own work.
In addition to uploading and recording videos, you and your team members can install the Vimeo app on your Zoom accounts, which will allow your contributors to upload their Zoom meeting recordings to the Vimeo account automatically upon the meeting’s conclusion. This is helpful for knowledge sharing across your organization for those who may not have been able to make it to a meeting.
Live events can be organized into your teams’ folders as well, instead of keeping them all within the Live Events page. This allows teams to stream events and automatically archive them within the workspace they belong to.
Contributors have access only to folders shared with them. However, if a live event or video is featured, then everyone on the team can see it at the top of the home page no matter in which folder it's located.
