Creating a venue requires an Enterprise account with the Events add-on.
If your virtual event will have multiple attendees who would like to stream alongside you, you can designate those attendees as Speakers to present during your event.
How to designate speakers in a venue
The attendees selected to be speakers need to register for the event before you can add them to your venue. You can invite up to 45 speakers but only 12 can be on stage at a time.
When an Event host (Owner of the event ) or Account admins promotes an event attendee as a speaker:
- Event organizers can mark specific attendees as Speakers in the People tab, on the top right navigation bar. This sets them apart from other participants, making them more visible to everyone.
- Designated speakers can:
- Turn on their cameras and microphones
- Share content to the stage
- Event hosts can allow speakers to enter the virtual venue before the event officially starts. This is controlled through the Enter closed venue toggle in Venue Settings> Advanced Settings.
If you are using Vimeo’s web-based production tool to stream to your venue, as an Admin, you can manage all the speakers with private communication with them via our backstage experience. For more relevant information, refer to Invite guest speakers into your stream.
