Why should I mark my site Made for Kids?
It creates a safer community for your users and ensures full legal compliance.
What does this do to my site?
Community
Marking your site “Made for Kids” will disable comments and forums, thus keeping the focus on your video content and your community safe.
Analytics
Our Segment integration will not send out any data from your Vimeo OTT site and we won't be able to add third-party tracking scripts to your site. Google Analytics will also be disabled. Tracking pixels also cannot be enabled for conversion or page tracking
What does this do to my apps?
If you have branded apps through Vimeo OTT, marking your site as "Made for Kids" will also mark your apps as such. This will apply the same analytics limitations as detailed above for the web. These data-gathering limitations are part of Apple's and Google's own "Made for Kids" programs respectively.
We will also add a parental login gate to your Apple iOS and tvOS apps. This gate adds several questions only an adult could answer before an in-app purchase can be made. This is done to comply with App Store guidelines.
Can I turn it off?
Yes, but if we see that your site is geared towards children, we will reach out and have this re-enabled. This is a requirement for sites with content aimed at minors.
