Claiming your company’s domain will allow you to ensure all the members of your organization with a company email are required to log in with SSO. With JIT provisioning, it will also force all your users to be provisioned to your Enterprise account after they’ve successfully authenticated. By claiming a domain, you can also ensure no other employees at your company can create new Vimeo accounts independently from your Enterprise account.
To force all users with your company’s domain to log in with SSO into your Enterprise account, you should claim your domain for your SAML connection and also enable JIT provisioning. You have to request your domain be verified by Vimeo before your domain can be claimed.
- Create a new SAML connection
- We recommend testing your SAML connection using the test URL to ensure SSO is working properly before claiming your domain and forcing all your employees to log in with SSO into Vimeo
- In the “Claim your domain” section, enter the domain you wish to claim and click “Request verification”. You must request verification using an email address that contains the domain you’re trying to claim.
- If you’d like to request verification of a domain that does not match the email address of your account, submit a support ticket from an account with an email that contains the domain you are trying to claim.
- Vimeo will notify you once the domain has been claimed
- Once the domain has been claimed, all users with the domain in their email address will be required to log in with SSO.
If you need to add another domain to that SAML connection, you can easily request it to be added to your list of claimed domains. You can associate multiple domains with a single SAML connection.
💡Tip: You can also claim multiple domains for different IdPs.
If you need to remove your domain from a SAML connection, simply delete that domain from the list of claimed domains. After the domain has been removed, users with that domain will no longer be forced to sign in with SSO to your account. If you wish to remove the user entirely, you will have to manually remove the user from your team.
