How to customize the video page

This article explains how to customize the appearance and settings of your Vimeo video page with presets and various customizable features. 

You have control over the settings on your video’s page on vimeo.com. This is the page viewers will see when they access your video. From the Appearance panel on the video settings page, you can create reusable video page presets and embed presets with different settings for each viewing environment. 

For Enterprise accounts with Workspaces: Presets can be configured and managed at both the Workspace and Organization levels, with Organization settings taking precedence. For details, visit 'How to edit my Organization’s settings' or 'How to edit my Workspace's settings'.

How to customize the video page

Follow these steps to access Appearance settings on the video settings page:

1. Select your video from your library.
2. Navigate to the Appearance icon on the left-hand toolbar and choose the Video page tab.
   
3. Here, you may create or apply an existing preset for the video page or select settings for this individual video using the dropdown menus in this panel.
4. You will see options for Branding, Video details, Engagement, and Controls. Open each dropdown menu to toggle on or off specific features. 
5. After making any changes, select Save.
6. Visit the video page to view all your customizations. You can get there by selecting Share > Copy link from the upper right corner or by using the View on Vimeo link at the top of the Appearance panel.

How to use video page presets

Follow these steps to create a new page preset for your video. For more information, see 'How to use page presets'.

1. Select your video from the library.
2. Navigate to the Appearance icon on the left-hand toolbar.
3. Customize the page settings using the toggles in the Appearance panel.
4. Save your settings by selecting the Save button at the bottom of the panel.
5. Scroll to the top of the panel and select +Save new preset from the dropdown menu.
6. Enter a name for your preset and then Create preset.
7. Your preset has now been saved and can be applied to other videos in your Library. You can manage presets at the Viewing presets page.

What settings can be customized on the video page?

Below is a basic overview of the customization options available for video pages on vimeo.com. Custom color settings are only applied to Unlisted and Private videos. For a comprehensive breakdown of settings, refer to the table at the end of the article.  

Branding

• Choose your brand colors for the video player and add a custom logo.

Video details

• Toggle video metadata on or off, including Description, Date added, View count, and Credits.

Engagement

• Choose to hide buttons such as Share, Watch later, Vimeo AI, Download, and Comments. 

Controls

• Toggle player controls on or off, including volume, playback speed, closed captions, and full-screen mode.

What cannot be customized on the video page?

You cannot use custom brand colors on a Public video page. Refer to the table below for a comprehensive breakdown of the features that can be customized for video pages and the embedded player.

These settings are enabled by default. Note that commenting settings within the Appearance panel only control the visibility of comments on the video page.
