Once you have created your Vimeo Event and enabled it for Live Engagement you are ready to start your live stream, enable Chat, Polls, and/or QA, and manage your audience interactions.
You will enable the specific live engagement tools (Chat, Polls, and/or QA) and moderate them from your connected Vimeo.com account. Once enabled, the live engagement tools will appear inside a Live Engagement Room which will appear alongside or below the video player.
- Log into your Vimeo OTT admin for your project and click Manage > Site > Content
- Click on any Vimeo Events you have already created.
- On the General tab of the event, scroll down to the section titled Live Engagement
- Click the blue Manage Event button and a new tab will open taking you to the corresponding event on Vimeo.com
- If you are not already logged in on the corresponding Vimeo.com account, you will be prompted to log in.
- You will need to be added as a Team Member on the Vimeo.com account connected to your OTT account to access and moderate the Live Engagement tools.
- Inside the Vimeo.com event interface, you will be able to individually enable Chat, Polls, and/or QA functionality.
- The location of the Chat, Polls, and Q&A features is slightly different between RTMP and Browser Based Studio.

- Chat is located on the right side of the screen. Enable by clicking the blue button Turn On inside of the chat module. You can read a full overview of moderating live chat here.
- If streaming via a Browser Based Encoder, you can toggle between chatting with the audience and chatting with live-stream speakers.
- The polls module is located on the left side of the screen. Enable by clicking the blue button “Create poll” inside of the polls module. You can read a full overview of creating and moderating polls here.
- The QA module is located on the left side of the screen. Enable by clicking the blue button “Start Q&A” inside of the Q&A module. You can read a full overview of creating and moderating Q&A here.
- When the features are enabled on the Vimeo.com event, they will become visible to viewers in the Live Engagement Room to the right or below the video player on your site/apps.
