Vimeo Events on OTT support the ability to engage live with your viewers through Chat, Q&A, and Polls.
The first step to streaming on OTT is connecting a Vimeo.com account. Follow these simple steps to connect your Vimeo.com and OTT accounts. Once you have connected your Vimeo account and your Vimeo OTT Site, with a Vimeo account enabled with live streaming you are ready to broadcast your live events directly to your Vimeo OTT audience. You can monetize your live events as part of your subscription, one-time purchases (also known as Pay Per View), or both.
⚠️Note: To stream live events, you must be on a Vimeo OTT Enterprise plan with live streaming enabled and have a Premium, Advanced, or Enterprise account on Vimeo.com. Please contact Vimeo OTT Sales or your Account Manager to add live streaming capabilities to your site.

Configuring site-wide defaults for live engagement tools
You can set defaults for your site that will apply to every new Vimeo Event you create. You can override the sitewide defaults at the individual event level.
- Log into your Vimeo OTT admin for your project and click Manage > Site > Content
- Scroll to the section titled Live Engagement
-
Include a live engagement room for all new live events—This toggle lets you choose whether all live events you create will have the option to enable live engagement tools. By default, this toggle will be disabled.
- If enabled, the live event will show a section next to the video player where the live engagement tools will display when enabled.
- If disabled, viewers will only see the video player. The live engagement section will not display for your event.
-
Require users to log in to participate in live engagement for all new live events—This toggle allows you to choose whether to require users to log in before they can participate in the Live Engagement. By default, this toggle will be enabled.
- If enabled viewers will be prompted to log in before they can see the contents of the live engagement module and participate
- If disabled they will be able to see and participate in the live engagement even if they are not logged in to your site.
Configuring live engagement tools on a specific event
Each time you create a new Vimeo Events live stream, you will be able to configure the live engagement settings.

- You must enable Include a live engagement room for this event if you want to use Chat, Polls, or Q&A during your event.
