If your Vimeo AI translations fail, you may see one of the following error messages:
- AI Translation is not supported for this video’s language.
- You can view the supported languages at What languages are supported by Vimeo AI subtitle translation? or What languages are supported by Vimeo AI's audio translation?
- Unable to process this translation; please try again.
If the Translate from drop-down field doesn't populate anything, it typically means there is no transcript available for the system to translate. To fix this, you can:
- Upload your own caption file in the video's original language.
- If there are already other AI translation files, be sure to set one of the files as the video's original language.
If your video’s language isn't supported, you’ll receive an error indicating that AI translation is unavailable. If the translation fails, you’ll be informed that Vimeo AI cannot process it.
Languages with successful translations will appear in the Languages menu on the video’s settings page.
If your translations continue to fail, please contact Support. In your message, please provide the following:
- The link to your video.
- The original language of your video.
- The language(s) failing
- Screenshots of any error messages you receive or any additional details to assist with troubleshooting.
