Choosing a profile
- After signing in, the viewer lands on the Choose Profile screen showing every profile on the account.
- They select their profile. If it’s protected with a PIN, they enter it. They then enter the platform with that profile’s own history, My List, and recommendations.
Creating and managing profiles
- Viewers add a profile from the Choose Profile screen (up to four total), pick an avatar, and name it (up to 15 characters).
- From Manage profiles, a viewer can rename a profile, change its avatar, mark it as a kid profile, set or change a PIN, or delete it.
- The Main profile can’t be deleted or made into a kid profile.
Locking an adult profile with a PIN
An adult profile can be protected with a four-digit PIN under the Profile Lock setting (“Require a PIN to access your profile”). Once set, anyone selecting that profile must enter the PIN first—handy for keeping a parent’s profile private on a shared device. Child profiles never use a PIN.
The Main profile can also choose to require the PIN before new viewer profiles can be created.
Setting, changing, or resetting a PIN requires the viewer to confirm their identity with a code sent to the account email. (After the PIN is set for the Main profile, the viewer can use that PIN to change it instead of email verification.) The same flow doubles as a forgot-PIN path: a viewer who can’t remember their PIN verifies by email and gets back in without being locked out.
The child profile experience
- A child profile shows a kid-friendly version of your library—only the content you marked child-safe.
- Search only returns child-safe results, and adult-only titles or pages can’t be reached even by direct link.
- Settings and account management are hidden, and there’s no PIN to enter.
- Community features are disabled for child profiles.
Switching profiles
Viewers can switch profiles at any time from within the app, without logging out. Each switch instantly loads that profile’s own personalized experience.
