How to change your video’s privacy
You can edit the privacy settings for each video by following the steps below.
- Log in to Vimeo and navigate to your Library.
- Select your video to open the video settings page.

On the upper right-hand of the page, select the Share button.

A new modal will open on the right side. Click on the panel under the privacy settings drop-down option.

Select the desired privacy setting. The selection will save automatically.

You can also change your privacy settings from the Video library by clicking on the (...) dots from your selected video and then choosing Share. This will also open up the modal to change your privacy settings.
💡Tip: You can also set your video's viewing privacy before uploading.
How to change where your video can be embedded
Another element of video privacy is controlling whether your video can be viewed elsewhere besides vimeo.com. All privacy settings except for Private allow you to embed your video on other sites.
- Log in to Vimeo and navigate to your Library.
- Click on a video to open the video edit page.
- On the upper right-hand corner of the page, select the privacy icon using the Share button.

Select the Embed option at the bottom of the modal

A modal window will open with the HTML code. By default, this code is for a Responsive player, but you can manually configure the embedded player's size (in pixels) if you wish. To do so, select Customize and toggle Set custom dimensions on
⚠️Note: Custom video URLs cannot be embedded. -
You can also choose where to embed your video by selecting the drop-down
- Anywhere: Anyone can embed your video onto any page on the internet.
- Nowhere: No one, including you and your team members, can embed your video anywhere. It will only be viewable on vimeo.com.

Specific domains (Available for all plans except Free and Basic): After you select this option, add your website’s domain (mysite.com) or subdomain (subdomain.mysite.com) in the text field that appears below the dropdown menu; be sure to click the (+) to add it. You can specify and manage up to 50 domains where your video can be embedded.
- Note that when adding a domain, such as vimeo.com, to the "specific domains" list, all subdomains directly under it, including project.vimeo.com, will be automatically included. However, subdomains at further levels, like example.project.vimeo.com, will not be covered by this setting.
- Wildcard characters are not supported.
- Your selection will save automatically.
How to edit privacy settings in bulk
You can just follow these steps to edit the privacy settings of one or more videos at a time.
- Go to your LibraryHow to use the Vimeo libraries to find the video(s) you would like to edit. Note that you cannot change privacy settings for VODs or Vimeo Stock.
- To select a video, check the box on the left side of its thumbnail/row (depending on if you are in grid-view or list-view).
- Then, select Privacy.
- Choose your desired privacy settings and then Save.
