What to know before password-protecting a video
- Viewers will be prompted to enter the password on the video player before the video can be played.
- Password-protected videos can be embedded anywhere, and viewers do not need a Vimeo account to watch them.

- For Enterprise accounts with Workspaces: Privacy settings can be configured and managed at both the Workspace and Organization levels, with Organization settings taking precedence.
How to password-protect a video
If you would like to require viewers to enter a password to view your video, follow these steps:
- Select the video from your Library to open the video page.
- Select Share at the top of the video page. It'll have an icon of your video's current privacy setting.
- In the expanded menu, select the privacy drop-down menu and choose the Password option.
- Enter a password for your video.
- Only share your video password with people you want to access it.
How to remove password protection from a video
You can also remove password protection from your video. To do so:
- Select the video from your Library to open the video page.
- Select Share at the top of the video page.
- In the expanded menu, select the privacy drop-down menu
- Select any other privacy setting that is not the Password setting (such as Unlisted or Public).
- Once a new setting is selected, the password will be removed.
