Overview
Enhanced campaign controls give sellers better management over the timing and frequency of their bumper ads. You can now:
- Set a frequency cap to avoid overexposure to viewers.
- Schedule the start and end dates of campaigns to run with precision.
These tools improve viewer experience and reduce manual effort for sellers.
⚠️Note: This feature is available only to sellers on the Bumpers Advanced Tier. It is supported on web and most major OTT apps (Apple, Google, Amazon v9.0+). Roku is supported but not enabled by default. Not supported on Tizen, Xbox, LG, or Vizio.
Before you begin
To use these controls:
- Make sure your account has Bumpers Advanced Tier access.
- Double-check that your campaign is toggled on in the bumper editor.
Set a frequency cap
Prevent viewers from seeing the same bumper too many times in a day.
- In the bumper campaign editor, toggle on Frequency Cap.
- Enter the maximum number of impressions per viewer per day.
The frequency cap is applied on a per-device basis, not per user account, so a single viewer watching across the web and mobile/TV apps could be served bumpers up to the maximum limit on each of those individual devices. Once a viewer hits the limit, they won’t see that bumper again until the next day. The frequency cap resets every 24 hours at midnight US Eastern Time.
Schedule a bumper campaign
Choose when your campaign starts and ends.
- Ensure the campaign toggle is set to ON.
- Set a Start Date and/or End Date in the scheduling section.
- If only a start date is set, the campaign begins on that date and continues indefinitely.
- If only an end date is set, the campaign starts immediately and ends on the selected date.
- If both are set, bumpers begin at midnight EST on the start date and end at 11:59 PM EST on the end date.
⚠️Note: The campaign must always be enabled to serve bumpers. Setting dates alone is not enough.
Understanding campaign statuses
- Active – Campaign is running with no end date.
- Inactive – Campaign is off and not serving bumpers.
- Scheduled – Campaign is enabled but not yet serving bumpers until the scheduled start date.
- Active until (date) – Campaign is actively serving bumpers and will end on the specified date.
